Lenovo sets record in tablet sales, company topped Samsung in 2020

For the year 2020, CMR’s Tablet PC Market Report Review states that Lenovo has overtaken Samsung to occupy the top position in the market. Lenovo has consistently performed well in the tablet market over 14 quarters. Lenovo Tab M10 (HD) Series has gained 10 percent market share.
Samsung in second place with 30% share
Samsung was second in the market leaderboard with 30 percent market share. Samsung launched several tablets in 2020, including the Tab A7 LTE and WiFi versions, the Tab S7, S7 Plus and S6 Lite. The Tab A7 LTE and WiFi were the most successful of all launched by Samsung and recorded a 13 percent share in the Samsung tablet portfolio.
Analyst-Industry Intelligence Group (IIG), CMR, Maneka Kumari said, “The opportunities and demand created by the epidemic caused by Work from Home and Learning from Home (LFH) has created a strong lead in the Indian tablet industry in the year 2020. . ” He said that apart from the exciting deals during the festive season, the Indian tablet market got a further boost.
The report states that uncertainty remains due to the Covid-19 pandemic and meanwhile tech giant Apple has a good chance of increasing its share in its tablet market. Demand for tablets is expected to increase in the second quarter of this year with the education sector and digital transformation.
